Monitoring system characteristics

The Whyte Technologies monitoring system consists of an 80cm dish, a typical Universal LNB, 10m of type 100 coaxial drop cable, a Promax RANGERNeoLite analyser, and our own custom-coded software that performs a daily scan of the Astra-2 satellites at 28.2° East.

How to Update Channel Plans on Your Ranger Meter

Copy the File to USB
- Format a USB stick to FAT32 and copy the required file onto it then insert the USB into your Ranger meter.
Import the Channel Plans
- Press the Folder button (right-hand side) to open the Installation Manager.
- Press F4 (Tools) → Import from USB, then select the channel plans. This will overwrite any existing plans with the same names.
Apply the Channel Plan (Important!)
- In Installation Manager, press F2 (Manage) → F3 (Installation) to add the new channel plan to your meter’s current installation.
Check for Old Channel Plans
- If your meter is still using an old plan, it will remain active until manually changed.
- The import process overwrites plans with the same name, but old ones (e.g., Sky8) may still exist.
- To remove them, go to Installation Manager, select the files on the left, and press the appropriate F-key to delete them.
